During Monday’s test of my new shovel flag, I saw that it could handle a situation without any air movement. Now was the time to test it in some wind. I was initially extremely please with it, but the shovel couldn’t stand up to the force of the wind. After catching the flag a few times before it hit the ground, I decided to put it back in the car to keep it safe. Yo-Yo Ma was scheduled to take the Q on this one by my M was not keen on the idea of his going out in the conditions this morning. I set the alarm extra early this morning to be able to check conditions, right as my alarm went off the power went out 4:09 am. I assessed the situation and got candles positioned around the house. No power in the 4 neighborhoods off of Lake Point Drive. No power a Cross Schools, but a lot of headlights and tail lights. Better check that out. 4 Bluffton Police vehicles in the parking and the alarm is blaring. Don’t have my keys so I can’t do anything about that. Chatted quickly with one of the officers and back on the road. No power in Shell Hall. From Hampton Hall south, there is power. Large limb/small tree down on McCracken Circle. Empty parking lot. Planning a solo workout, then I see a truck pull in. Let’s do this!

Moleskin:

  • Madoff was just in the same part of Italy where my daughter is currently studying.
  • Small workouts are great for 2nd F!
  • This was the smallest workout that Madoff has ever done. I have done a lot of 2 person WOs and even a few solos.
  • Prayers for those hit so hard by Michael. Prayers that it won’t dump too much rain on those areas north of us already impacted by flooding.
  • Madoff is a great workout partner!
  • Make sure to be there Saturday for the opening of the new Hilton Head AO.
